If you love hummingbirds, and put out feeders to attract them to your yard, there’s a better way!
The hummingbird nectar mix you buy at the store is really nothing but sugar water. Sugar is not any better for them than it is for people. Planting nectar plants is much better, and if you pick selections that flower at different times, you will keep hummers coming all year.
If you live in the Green Valley, Arizona area, sign up for a lecture on planting your own hummingbird garden. You will learn what hummers love, and how to set up your landscaping to be more inviting to them.
The class is held through Green Valley Recreation, Inc., and is open to both GVR members and non-members alike. (Non-members pay $10 more).
The class will be held Monday, May 19th from 9 am to 10 am at Canoa Ranch Recreation Center, Amado Room, in Green Valley.
If you are a GVR member, you can register online. Non-members need to sign up at their main office at 1070 Calle de las Casitas.
