Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month prepares for the coming season

Ski season will be here before we know it. Are you ready? Now is the time to get ready.

The Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and Bring a Friend programs saw over 153,000 children and adults take beginner lessons last year. January is the official Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and organizers are gearing up for the 2013-2014 season. The program is also looking to expand its efforts all season long.

New this year is a new logo, an updated website, and enhanced and increased public relations efforts. Back this season is the popular Bring a Friend Challenge and Why I Love to Ski or Ride Video Contest.

The new logo highlights the word "Learn" and gives partners the opportunity to package "Learn to" programs, promotions, and special offers.

The Ambassador program will see a change where ages 13 to 17 can participate and are called Champions. Motivated skiers and riders can also become Ambassadors should they meet the criteria.

Most skiers and riders were introduced to the sport by someone else, a family member or a friend. The Bring a Friend Challenge embraces this fact and encourages current skiers and riders to bring a friend to the slopes and help them sign up for a lesson with a professional instructor. Often times, beginners do not know what to expect and this is where friends and families come into play. Plus, you can sign up and be entered to win prizes for bringing a friend to the slopes and getting them hooked up with a professional instructor and lesson.
