Atlanta Shooters and Concealed Carry, a Meetup group, held a class last night about Learn to present (draw) from concealed carry last night. The group has periodic events of interest to its members. The location was Range Guns and Safes near Spaghetti Junction. Fourteen members of the group attended.
A member of the group who is a detective for a metro Atlanta area police department taught the class. After introductions by the members present, the class began. The initial subject was items for Weapons Carry, such as holsters, magazine pouches, knives, and flashlights. Since many members of the group, including some ladies, are new to concealed carry, he discussed various options for carrying a concealed handgun.
He then demonstrated a four step method of drawing a pistol from concealment. After his demonstration, members’ pistols were checked to make sure they were unloaded and there was a short guided practice session. During the practice session, members were coached on grip, stance, and draw technique. The practice session began by drawing step by step and concluded with drawing at nearly full speed.
There was then a short discussion of legal aspects of personal protection. Following the legal discussion, the meeting adjourned. Some members went into the range to observe the Gwinnett Practical Shooting League match that was in process.
