With the current cold weather we have been having, wouldn't it be nice to have a nice warm quilt to warm up with? This Saturday is the first installment of a four part class on how to make or finish a quilt top at the Guilford Art Center. Instructor Ruth Anne Olson will be teaching beginner quilters how to start a new quilt or will assist in finishing one you have already started. The class will teach all the techniques of quilting including assembling a simple block design, make slashing and borders, as well as teach how to sandwich, baste and bind your quilt.

A small quilt is recommended in order to finish during the four classes. Tuition is $120.00 for non-members or $108.00 for current members. Classes are Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm starting on January 30. A list of required materials is provided at registration. You can get more information on this and other classes at the Guilford Art Center website.

The Guilford Arts Center is located at 411 Church Street in Guilford, Connecticut and can be reached at (203) 453-5947. Please feel free to contact the author of this article with your story and photos to be included in future articles. You can reach her at craftct [at] gmail [dot] com.
