Learn more about growing your own food and going green with this event

Our Ohio,  sponsored by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation has a motto:  Grow it.  Know it.  Live it.  They do just that. 

For 2010, they have been offering a Grow & Know Series of events, educating participants about getting back to the basics with their land and food.  If you're interested in growing a garden, eating from it all year long, and learning more about going green in general, you don't want to miss the next event.  

Growing your own Food and Going Green

June 5th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at The Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus

In this session, participants will learn how to grow and preserve their own food.  Whether you have a little space or a lot doesn't matter.  Topics include:

  • Preserving home grown food, including canning tips and techniques
  • Benefits of container gardening for those who have little or less traditional land space 
  • Growing and using herbs to their fullest potential
  • Rain water collection and usage
