Fishing at Sebastian Inlet State Park is exciting and fun when fishermen know how to nab those denizens of the deep. On January 12, 2013, Captain Nick Price will lead a workshop at the park, "How to Fish Sebastian Inlet and Surrounding Water." This introduction to fishing one of the hottest spots in Central Florida is free except for the park entry fee.
Sebastian Inlet offers surf fishing, river fishing and fishing from two jetties extending into the Atlantic Ocean. Both jetties and bridge catwalks are A.D.A. accessible. Captain Price will discuss the best baits to use to entice fish to bite and the best time to use them. He will offer advice on where fishermen will have the best chance of hooking a fish or two in the Sebastian Inlet area.
There is a wide array of fishing poles, lines, hooks, reels and more to choose from when selecting gear to go fishing. The type of gear should match the type of fish a person is trying to catch so they will land the fish and not have it swim off after breaking the line. The workshop will cover gear recommendations so fishermen will know what is needed to fish at the inlet.
Since Sebastian Inlet is a popular fishing location it's important that everyone follow proper fishing etiquette. Captain Price will share this information and demonstrate the correct manner to handle situations that arise while fishing at Sebastian Inlet State Park.
The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The group will meet at Pavilion #4 on the south side of Sebastian Inlet. For more information visit the Sebastian Inlet State Park website.
