Sometimes it seems like crafting is a solitary activity, We all have our work areas, with our familiar tools and supplies, The lucky crafter also has local friends to share their passion, maybe attending classes, conferences and shows together. While some crafters focus better with no distractions, others are invigorated and inspired by working with others, learning new skills, sharing their accomplishments. It's also a great way to develop or explore a new interest,
So what do you do if you want to find others who share the same creative interests but frankly none of your current friends "get it". If you live in the Greater Cincinnati area maybe you should investigate the plethora of guilds and societies that meet in the area. There are organizations for weavers/fiber arts, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, calligraphy, scrapbooking, leatherwork, woodworking, embroidery, polymer clay work,doll making and beading. Many of the larger groups meet regularly, offering classes and workshops, sponsoring shows, and social activities.

Even if you don't want to join the group you should check out classes and workshops. Many of the organizations offer regular learning opportunities, including for non-members. It is a great way to check out a new craft or find out more about an old favorite.
