Want to be involved in the true workings of politics? Start at the local level. The 2014 election is closing in fast, and the first step in that process is the Republican Caucus.

During the Republican caucus, registered local voters of the Republican party list their preferences for candidates running for office and select delegates to a convention.

A Larimer County public information session for the 2014 Caucus will be held on Wednesday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m. This is rescheduled from a December session which was cancelled due to snow. The session at the Estes Park High School Commons area will update local voters on the Caucus process.

Even though 2014 is considered an “off year” (the top slot on the ballot, President, is not being filled), the election is still important. You can volunteer as a delegate to influence your selection of major party candidates, including Colorado Senators, Representatives and more.

The 2014 Caucus is scheduled for March 4, 2014. Make sure you are registered to vote, as a Republican, by the beginning of January to take part in the Republican Caucus.
