Learn about Maple sugaring at Irvine Nature Center (Video)

As the winter season gradually turns to spring subtle changes occur. First we celebrate the emergence of the groundhog as the sap begins to flow within Maple trees. Although prior to spring it may be cold, we have the hope of warmer days ahead.

Maple Magic
On Saturday, February 9 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., the Irvine Nature Center is offering Maple Magic, a program suitable for all ages with an adult. Pre-registration is required as walk-ins are not allowed.

Maple syrup over hot pancakes is a great way to start the day. At Irvine Nature Center, everyone will learn, “…how to identify maple trees, properly tap a tree to collect its sugary sap, and convert the sticky fluid into syrup using Irvine's enormous evaporator.”
