Learn about Houston's Korean culture

If you have driven through parts of town, you will likely have encountered a myriad of stores that sell Korean food or products. This Saturday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., you can learn more about the rich Korean culture that is integral to Houston.

Now you can learn more about Korean culture in Houston at the 2012 Korean Festival Houston, also known as the K-Fest. Best of all, admission to this festival is free. This festival at Discovery Green will showcase dancers, artists, singers, martial artists and culinary delights. If you attend the K-Fest at Discovery Green and get a taste for Korean food, why not make some yourself when you return home?

Try some of the Korean recipes below to bring the tastes of the K-Fest home. You may find that you have discovered a new favorite cuisine. For specialty Asian ingredients, try 99-Ranch Market on the Katy Freeway or nearby Super Hmart on Blalock Road.
