An enriching opportunity for any individual seeking to expand his or her personal spiritual foundation is being offered by Atlanta Unity Church. “Life of Prayer,” a spiritual education course developed by the Unity School of Christianity as part of the educational curriculum for casual learners, those wishing to serve in a Unity church in a leadership capacity as administrators or chaplains, or those wishing to go on to pursue credentialing as a Licensed Unity Teacher or minister, is being offered from February 18, 2013, through February 22, 2013. The course will meet daily from 10 am to 12 pm in Room 107 at Atlanta Unity Church.
“Life of Prayer” (which explores the prayer life and attitude of each participant as well as Unity’s unique form of affirmative prayer through readings and experiential exercises, including journaling, sitting in silence, and upholding the intentions of self and others) will be taught by Lawrence E. Bergmann, a Licensed Unity Teacher with over four decades of involvement with the Unity movement. He has spoken and led workshops throughout the United States, England, and Australia. Bergmann also has extensive teaching experience in high school, college, and other arenas focusing on adult education.
Preregistration is not required. For those individuals wishing to pursue official S.E.E. credit through the Unity School of Christianity, the cost of the course is $50.00 plus the cost of the required texts. For those learners not seeking S.E.E. credit but who wish to develop a deeper understanding of Unity teachings, the course is being offered on a love offering basis plus the cost of the required texts.
