Leapin' labradors! Water-loving dogs will highlight fundraiser for Maxfund

MAXFUND(www.maxfund.org) will be the beneficiary Saturday at an event called F.E.T.C.H The Dock Days of Summer in Broomfield. The event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be held at Canine Rehabilitation and Conditioning Group, 8855 W. 116th Circle. It is free to attend.

DockDogs is an aquatics competition for water-loving dogs and their humans. There’s a Rocky Mountain DockDogs chapter that's open to any dog that enjoys swimming, retrieving, and jumping.

Besides the aquatic hounds, there will be games, a food truck and local beer, K9 massages, nail trimming and microchipping, adoptable dogs and face and paw print painting. Visitors may buy tickets to play games with winners getting raffle tickets for a prize.

FOOTHILLS ANIMAL SHELTER - Adoption fees for all dogs are half off at the Foothills Animal Shelter(www.foothillsanimalshelter.org) in Golden through Sunday, June 22. Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip and health check.

CAT CARE SOCIETY in Lakewood is offering an adoption special during June, which is "Adopt A Shelter Cat Month". There are reduced fees for all the Society's adult cats all month long. An adult cat is $45 while a pair of adult cats are $75.

McGUCKIN HARDWARE in Boulder will host vendors, promotions, adoption services and “make your own” collar and leash demonstrations at its inaugural Pet Expo on Saturday, June 21. The store bills itself as pet-friendly.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley(www.boulderhumane.org) will have representatives present to share agility with guardians and their dogs. McGuckin Hardware will accept donations for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley at registers inside the store. Pet expert and photography consultant John LeMaster from Mike’s Camera will be on hand to give suggestions on how to take great pet pictures.

WELD HUMANE SOCIETY(www.weldhumane.org) will hold its 4th annual Yappy Hour on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. this Saturday at the Twin Rivers Park amphitheater, 1501 65th Avenue in Greeley. There will be a selection of beer and wine to taste.There also will also be live rhythm and blues and food provided by Buffalo Wild Wings and Texas Roadhouse. Pets can attend.
