It's no secret that country crooner Leann Rimes has a penchant for both bikinis and social media, and this week she's found yet another reason to combine her two loves—her friend Lizzy's 40th birthday bash in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Rimes has been known to change her bikini several times a day when the paparazzi are near, and it's likely this time will be no exception. On August 14, she tweeted, "The spray tan fairy came by, all my bikinis are packed 15 to be exact LOL & my mind is already on vacation! #cabo #checkingout #margaritas."
She was also eager to point out that, unlike her friend Lizzy, she's still nearly a decade away from the 40-year milestone, tweeting, "My BFF will be 40 tmrw! I'm having soooo much fun giving her crap, wiping her tears and helping her celebrate. Gotta love a 30 y.o. BFF lol."
The birthday girl, Rimes and the rest of their party arrived in Cabo on August 15 ready to hit the beach, but not before Rimes had the chance to post two Vines—in one, Lizzy is making faces at the camera, and in the other Rimes is shown in full daylight singing a mariachi-style ditty in front of what looks like a beer. She also posted a photo (above) of herself, Lizzy and another friend with the caption: "Girls girls girls..... Happy 40th to the hot chick in the middle!!! Love you Lizzy."
It has been a summer of ups and downs for the singer, who has been known more in the last few years for ongoing drama in her personal life than her music career. Despite praise from some critics, her latest album, "Spitfire," tanked as far as record sales are concerned. However, Rimes does have one recent victory to celebrate, as it was announced on August 8 that she and her husband will be starring in a VH1 reality show (Cibrian's two sons from his previous marriage will not appear onscreen). “We are really excited to be working together on a unique show that will give you a glimpse into who we really are or better yet who we’re really not . . . [and] to put our spin on a project full of love, humor and music,” Rimes and Cibrian said in a statement.
