There have been plenty of times in my life when I have felt totally defeated and overwhelmed by the challenges of the world around me. I've watched as the people in my life have not necessarily shown me the best and to be quite honest have shown me their asses. It's hard to pick yourself back up when it seems like the entire universe has just planted itself on the tips of your shoulders.
Life has a tendency to knock you down just when you thought you just picked yourself back up from the last fall. Knockout after knockout life could begin to seem like a never ending battle you'll never have a chance to win. Instead of keeping your problems to yourself and bottling them in, you don't have to pretend like nothing is wrong, confide in a friend. Yes many may feel like exposing your inner insecurities will be a turn off but more likely than not friends want to be able to help you know that things will be better and may even offer a similar story or experience to help you cope and learn to overcome whatever crisis you may be facing.
Don't feel compelled to keep up appearances. Real friends share their triumphs and their tribulations. You may feel like sharing will open you up for judgement and it may if your friend is not so understanding but every so often it's important to open up to someone you trust so you have an opportunity to guage how to view and fix what may be going wrong in your life.
There will always be times when the weight of the world will get the best of you and It's important to understand that you are not in this alone. There are people in your life who are invested in making sure you are o.k. physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. Leaning on them when needed will not only solidify the bonds of friendship but allow you the opportunity to take a step back from your situation and gain maybe a more objective perspective on how to rectify any negative situation you may be in today.
