Leaky Gut Syndrome Could Be The Cause of Your Troubles

See also

Leaky Gut Syndrome is a condition where the intestinal lining allows toxins, undigested food particles and even biological germs to become absorbed from the gut into the blood stream. This will trigger immune function reactions in the body that lead to inflammatory disease and many other physical symptoms that keep you feeling “yucky”.

How Do You Get Leaky Gut?

Since this condition is thought to be an inflammation of the intestinal lining, it can be a result of many things: low gastric acid, not having enough digestive enzymes produced, chronic constipation, improper liver function, parasites, overuse of antibiotics without using probiotics afterwards, steroid use (even the type for pain), antacids, or other medications that even over-the-counter meds can cause that irritate the stomach.

What are some of the Sign and Symptoms I could have?

Usually if you have leaky gut, you may complain of a multitude of symptoms. Just some of these are: gastrointestinal disturbance, joint pain, headaches, mood swings, memory loss, fatigue, muscle soreness, sinusitis, hair loss or even some skin lesions. But when leaky gut is left untreated it can lead to: lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel, Crohn’s Disease, eczema, or other auto-immune disease.

What Should You Do If you Suspect You Have Leaky Gut?

Many health professionals believe the following foods must be eliminated from the diet to allow the stomach lining to heal: chocolate – dairy products – cured meat – alcohol – wheat – artificial sweeteners – caffeine and simple sugars.

There are natural methods to reduce intestinal inflammation such as: DGL licorice, slippery elm bark and many other multi-ingredient formulas found in health food stores and advised by a natural health care professional.

In addition you may need a powerful digestive enzyme formula taken with meals, dietary fiber, products to help eradicate intestinal yeast; such as garlic, citrus seed extract or caprylic acid/oil of oregano. Of course a good probiotic daily is essential for everyone no matter what your health issues dictate.

You can feel like you “changed your life” when you get this matter under control since it can cause so many health symptoms. Although the foods to avoid are difficult to stop eating for most people’s liking, it is not permanent and only needs to be stringent for about 4-6 weeks. If you re-introduce some of those foods back into your diet and notice you are not feeling well again, you will know that food has become an “intolerance” and needs to be avoided.
