A document released by the Texas Department of Public Safety warns that ISIS is actively promoting and encouraging supporters to take advantage of the porous southern border to engage in terror attacks against U.S. citizens, Breitbart.com reported Friday. The report comes on the heels of another report by Judicial Watch that warns of imminent attacks by Islamic terror groups operating in Ciudad Juarez.
According to Breitbart, the report showed images of James O'Keefe crossing the border while wearing an Osama bin Laden mask. The report does not mention the journalist by name, but attributes ISIS' interest in the border to a report by O'Keefe.
A Border Patrol agent, reportedly speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Breitbart they had credible information that ISIS terrorists are attempting to find individuals and groups in Nuevo Laredo who will help them cross the border. The warning was issued to agents across the entire southern border with Mexico and, Breitbart added, is being taken seriously.
Judicial Watch said that according to one source, an attack on the border is "coming very soon." JW also said that according to another source, the attack is so imminent that the commanding general of Ft. Bliss is being briefed on the situation.
Breitbart said that it was "unable to identify any sources in federal law enforcement agencies to verify that a specific and imminent terror plot was currently under way." Nevertheless, Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, stood by his group's report.
"This is a dire situation and I can't emphasize enough the seriousness of the threat posed here," he said. "If your law enforcement sources do not have the information we have, they are being ill-served by their leadership. We put this out to protect the safety of law enforcement and citizens along the border. this is a public safety announcement."
Meanwhile, liberals dismiss the threats posed by ISIS. Recently, Alan Colmes told Greg Gutfeld the threat is being “ginned up” to ensure American involvement. President Obama still has not formulated a strategy for dealing with ISIS, and spent Friday attending fundraisers. On Saturday, he is scheduled to attend the wedding of his personal chef Sam Kass and MSNBC host Alex Wagner in New York.
Judicial Watch also said the administration has either covered up or downplayed what it called "a serious epidemic of crime along the Mexican border even as heavily armed drug cartels have taken over portions of the region." Making matters worse, Judicial Watch added, the U.S. Border Patrol has ordered agents to stay out of the most crime-ridden areas to prevent an international incident.
