Actress Leah Remini, who is one of the celebrities taking part in this season’s “Dancing with the Stars,” said on the Sept. 23, 2013 episode the Church of Scientology wants her to “fail” on the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She was seen on “DWTS” speaking to dance partner, Tony Dovolani, saying how the rehearsal schedule was extremely demanding. She further mentioned how her recent split from the church had placed pressure on her, noting, “The church is looking for me to fail… So they can say, ‘You see what happens when you leave the church...,’” reports THR.
NBC “Today” reports that in fact she did not fail as far as the “DWTS” judges were concerned, as she was praised after hitting the dance floor.
Judge Bruno Tonioli said her Samba was “resplendent” and each of the three judges awarded her with an 8 for her efforts, according to “Today.”
THR notes that Remini rarely mentions her separation from Scientology, although she recently did so on the daytime talk show “Ellen.”
