Lux, the Lady of Luminosity, is the latest addition to Riot Games' League of Legends, bringing an eclectic pseudo-Harry-Potter-esque bewitching beauty to the League's roster of rogues.
Joining the rest of the saucy new additions to League of Legends' Season One, Lux offers a dazzling array of offensive options and some utility as well. So why the changes to Lux's abilities so close to release?
Lead Character Artist Chance Rowe said, "Players gave us a lot of early feedback on Lux, and we jumped at the chance to make her even better, before we released her in League of Legends."
Let's take a look at the new (and improved?) Lux abilities:
Prismatic Barrier: Lux throws her wand and bends the light around any friendly target it touches, protecting them from enemy damage.
Lucent Singularity: Fires an anomaly of twisted light to an area, which slows nearby enemies. Lux can detonate it to damage enemies in the area of effect.
Light Binding: Fires a ball of light towards a target location, binding the units hit. The units take magic damage. Can hit up to two targets with the second target receiving a reduced effect.
Finales Funkln (Ultimate): After gathering energy, Lux fires a beam of light that deals damage to all targets in the area.
Illumination (Passive): Lux's damaging spells illuminate the target for 6 seconds, granting her vision of the target. Lux's next attack ignites the debuff, dealing magic damage to the target.
In case you'd like to compare these skills to the previous Lux build, take a peek:
Prismatic Wave: Fires a wave to the target location and back, granting bonus magic resistance to allied targets in its area of effect. Lux is also struck by the wave upon return and enters stealth for a short duration.
Lucent Singularity: Creates a zone that slows enemy units (zone lasts 5 seconds). Can be detonated to deal magic damage to enemies in the area.
Light Binding: Fires a ball of light towards a target location, binding the units hit. The units take magic damage. Can hit up to two targets with the second target receiving a reduced effect.
Finales Funkln (Ultimate): After a short delay, Lux fires a laser pulse in front of her dealing damage to all enemy units in the area, as well as blinding them for up to 3 seconds.
Illumination (Passive): Lux's damaging spells illuminate the target for 6 seconds, granting her vision of the target. Lux's next attack ignites the debuff, dealing magic damage to the target.
Lux will be an interesting addition to League of Legends and may quickly win over the hearts of players who have put Ezreal back in the dugout after the flurry of nerfbats that swung upon his belt-laden head.
Along with other League of Legends Season One combatants thus far such as Xin Xhao, Vladimir, Galio, Urgot, Miss Fortune, Sona, and Swain, Lux is sure to heat things up when she becomes available for play.
