The qualifying teams will playing in the novel season 3 which will be played out with weekly matches over numerous stages that will lead up to the world championship.

We’ve been asking for this for a while now. While LoL may not have the same following as soccer it’s beating out baseball and is probably on par with hockey. Fans deserve to be able to more readily follow the pro Esports scene and to sit down and watch regular matches like any NFL follower can. With LCS Season 3 it seems like Esports finally has arrived. The games are streamed online, the action is virtual, our anthem is dubstep, and it is awesome.

Playing on the live patch Evelyn has become an established ban. Also new champions like Nami or Vi aren’t seeing much play but other more recent champions that were originally seen as underpowered like Kha’Zix and Elise are getting picked a lot.

Season 3 is going to see a lot of new blood injected into the NA gaming scene. Everyone loves an underdog story but will they be able to hold their own against established teams like TSM and CLG? Only time will tell.

Team FeaR, Meat Playground, Dirt Nap Gaming, Good Game University, Curse Gaming, Azure Gaming, Team MRN and The Brnch Club will be moving on to the next stage. Tune in Saturday and Sunday for the rest of the qualifiers. The Season 3 weekly matches will kick off February 7 with NA games every Thursday and Friday and EU games showing the following Saturday and Sunday.
