Remember the other day? Margaret and Dan were both vying for the same position that includes lots of negotiation and holding firm with the sales team.
Dan got the job.
Question: was the boss male or female?
Answer: But wait, before I tell, here is another comment the boss made to me in my coaching session with her or him…… (soon to be revealed):
"The role calls for a tough male to do tough negotiations. After all, when push comes to shove, men are tougher than women and besides, Margaret even looks frail and the guys would not really listen to her.”
Not really a surprise that the boss is a man.
The question is: Are the stereotypes of men and women ever going to disappear? An even bigger question is: How much truth is there in what the boss said?
