Reg Presley, the lead singer of the Troggs, a 60’s British rock band, has died at the age of 71 in his home. You might remember Mr. Presley from such songs as “Wild Thing” and “Love is all around.” Although he is the writer and original singer of these songs, “Love is all around” was covered by “Wet, Wet, Wet” a UK rock back in the 90’s.
Reg Presley retired from music a year ago when he became ill with lung cancer. Although he said he was feeling alright from the chemotherapy he was undergoing, he lost the battle with it. He also endured a succession of strokes before he died.
He found out he had lung cancer when he became sick at a show he was doing in Germany. While he was staying in the hospital, he went through several tests that indeed indicated he had lung cancer.
Reg Presley was born in Andover, Hampshire and started the popular band, The Troggs in the 1960’s. Because of the cover band in the UK who covered his song “Love is all around” and making it a hit again 27 years after it was written and first done by The Troggs, Mr. Presley was able to pursue his dreams in the paranormal. He even wrote a book in 2002 that was all about crop circles and UFO’s. The book was titled, “Wild Things they don’t tell us.”
Mr. Presley died in his home while being surrounded by his family.
