Lea Michele from 'Glee' drops her debut single 'Cannonball'

"Glee" star Lea Michele released her debut single "Cannonball" on Monday. The uplifting pop track was written by singer-songwriter Sia.

After covering many classics on the FOX series "Glee," Michele finally premiered a song of her own. Songwriter of the moment Sia, who has worked with Britney Spears, Rihanna, Celine Dion and many others, penned the riveting track for Lea. Michele seems to have her Katy Perry "Roar" and Sara Bareilles "Brave" moment with "Cannonball." Over some piano and booming beats, her theatrical voices gives life to the inspirational lyrics. "I got this new beginning and I will fly / I'll fly like a cannonball," she belts. The song seems a bit light to hold the title "Cannonball" (unlike Miley Cyrus' massive "Wrecking Ball") but Michele is still a convincing purveyor of positivity.

According to JustJared.com, Michele will perform "Cannonball" on "The Ellen Degeneres" for the first time ever on Dec. 12. The single is the first from her debut album "Louder," due out on March 4.
