Lea Michele dishes on new book and shares beauty tips

During the May 22 episode of the Dr. Oz Show, actress Lea Michele sat down with Dr. Oz to discuss her newest ventures. The Glee actress talked about her new book Brunette Ambition, moments shared with her “big Italian family” and shared some of her beauty secrets.

The 27-year-old is known for her breakout role on hit musical series ‘Glee’. Lea Michele, Born Lea Michele Sarfati, began working on Broadway and starred in a number of large productions before landing her most memorable role on Fox’s ‘Glee’.

While on the show Sarfati highlighted some of the topics in her book which is part memoir, part how-to, and part style guide. Sarfati shared some issues she’s had when it comes to meeting the standard of beauty in Hollywood including her struggle with acne. She talked about the acne treatment she received and the effects it had on her body.

Sarfati began to take better care of her body from the inside out using natural remedies. She shared some of her natural beauty secrets including the recipe for her cucumber face mask. She also shared her smoothie recipe to help fight the bloat that most women are prone to experiencing.

The actress talked about her growth into a woman during her time in the entertainment business. She shared the importance of finding a balance between “work and fun and family”. She also shared the importance of enjoying food in a healthy way and not using meals as an emotional crutch.

Sarfati was known for her on and off screen relationship with late actor Cory Monteith until his passing in 2013. Aside from her success on ‘Glee’, Sarfati has been working on a number of other projects including her new book Brunette Ambition, her new CD Louder, and a number of campaigns including spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris cosmetics.
