Chef Tag Grandgeorge announced late last week that he and Megan Grandgeorge will be reopening their French restaurant, Le Jardin soon. The Grandgeorges closed the restaurant, then located in the Shops at Roosevelt next to La Mie Bakery (at 841 42nd Street), in 2010. Since then, the couple has operated Le Jardin as a catering business and hosted a number of beer dinners at Peace Tree Brewery in Knoxville. Chef Grandgeorge expects to reopen Le Jardin in about four to six weeks in the spot formerly occupied by Flarah's at 2815 Beaver Avenue (Suite 101) in Beaverdale. Flarah's closed in April.
In other restaurant news, Trostel's Greenbriar Restaurant will host a Riedel Glass Wine Tasting event at the restaurant on September 12 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will feature four different glasses from Riedel's Vinum Series: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Riesling/Sauvignon Blanc. The cost of the event is $55 per person, and that includes the four-glass set for wine tasters to take home. Reservations for the event can be made by calling the restaurant at (515) 253-0154.
