Lazaro Arbos safe in Top 10 results show on 'American Idol'

Not only was Lazaro Arbos safe during the results show Thursday night on “American Idol,” he also placed fourth amongst a bevy of strong female contestants in the top five. Host Ryan Seacrest informed the Naples, Florida resident earlier he received a majority of votes from his home state. Tampa Bay subscribers to Bright House Networks saw the one-hour program on WTVT, channel 14. Now Lazaro and the other eight contestants move on next week to the theme of Lennon-McCartney songbook and The Beatles.

If one watched the performance show on Wednesday its clear this may be the year of the ladies. The first three finalists placing in no particular order were Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, and Angela Miller. Coming in fifth and sixth place were Amber Holcomb and Janelle Arthur. Of the four remaining contestants, the men placed in the bottom half with Devin Velez and Curtis Finch Jr. rounding out the last two. Curtis did sing for his life, but it wasn’t enough to be saved by the judges. If this is a sign of how the season may play out, Lazaro could be the last male standing.
