Day two of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week! Today you can see Czar by Cesar Galindo, Carmen Marc Valvo, Nautica, Rebecca Minkoff, Nicole Miller, Parkchoonmoo and a show from Academy of Art University.
One common thread I am seeing as we strut into day two is layers. Obviously we are looking at fall fashions, so there are going to be layers. But the vast contrasts of textures on one model is interesting. As we all know these looks will be pared down to a more viable commercial design, so won't see this much on a department store or boutique display.
The looks mixed media with leather, chiffon, beading, and fur. Very tonal, but the textures give black and gray incredible depth. Don't be afraid to soft and fierce, they aren't mutually exclusive.
