The LAX suspect in the Friday morning's shooting at Terminal 3 has been identified as Paul Ciancia, 23. The airport gunman is from New Jersey and painted a picture of horror at Los Angeles International Airport when he began firing bullets with a semi-automatic rifle at the main terminal. He shot and killed a TSA agent and injured several others.
ABC News reports Nov. 1 that Ciancia was wearing fatigues and carrying a bag that had a hand-written note reading that he "wanted to kill TSA and pigs."
In a development surrounding more on the LAX suspect, a New Jersey police chief said he had hinted of committing suicide. Pennsville Chief Allen Cummings said Ciancia's told him one of his other children received a text message from his son that indicated he was planning on "taking his own life."
Officials from the Union confirmed that the TSA officer shot at LAX "was the first ever killed in the line of duty. The deceased TSA agent was a behavioral detection officer, trained to spot suspicious behavior.
Several victims were shot with six of them transported to the hospital. One was in critical condition and two others were listed in fair condition. Information on the victims is minimal at this time.
The LAX suspect was taken into custody after law enforcement tracked him down in the airport.
