Thing's aren't looking good for "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" couple Joe and Teresa Giudice. For an OK! Magazine article posted on Wednesday, March 5, two lawyers not affiliated with the case explained what the future holds for Joe and Teresa.
Trial attorney Wendy L. Patrick first explained why the two entered guilty pleas.
“In general, people often enter guilty pleas in order to avoid a potentially higher sentence if they were to be convicted at trial," she explained.
According to New York City trial attorney Richard Roth, the two are definitely going to prison, it's just a matter for how long. Teresa faces 21 to 27 months and Joe faces 37 to 46 months behind bars.
“They are going to jail. No alternative," he said.
He also said that while they are likely to surrender to the authorities right away when they get sentenced in July, the court may grant them extra time to spend with their children before being locked up.
Richard also said that the two reality TV stars could end up serving time at the same facility.
“That depends on what the documents submitted to the Court say. Presumably, they will press for jails in the same location," he explained.
Teresa is thankful for all of her fans who have shown her support through this difficult time.
"Thank you all for your love & support of my family & my kids. You know how much they mean to me. I am keeping them protected & private.xx," she tweeted on Thursday, March 6.
