Lawyer has affair with client and billed her for sex time

A lawyer in Minnesota crossed the line when he had an affair with one of his clients. To make matters worse, he turned around and billed her for all the time they were having sex.

The married lawyer, Thomas P. Lowe, 58, has been suspended indefinitely by the state of Minnesota for his billing practices. Lowe began representing the woman in question in her divorce case in August 2011.

According to TwinCities.com, Lowe had known the woman for many years before becoming her attorney of record. It only took a month after he began representing her to begin the affair.

Allegedly, Lowe would bill the unnamed woman for legal services rendered. However, the “meetings” or memo draft sessions he was billing her for were actually times the two of them were having sex.

According to the state of Minnesota, Lowe will not be able to be reinstated to his position for at least one year and three months.
