'Law & Order: Los Angeles' returns to NBC on April 11

The retooled version "Law & Order: Los Angeles" returns to NBC with a two-hour episode on Monday, April 11. The first year crime drama was originally set to take over "Parenthood's" Tuesday night time slot in February, but was instead put on hiatus to make creative changes.

Series regulars Skeet Ulrich, Regina Hall and Megan Boone were subsequently dropped from the show in January.

Alfred Molina's Ricardo Morales, who is now a detective, will appear full-time, while "Law & Order" veteran Alana de la Garza will be reprise her role as Deputy District Attorney Connie Rubirosa from the original series. Molina's character, who previously played a prosecutor, will be partnered with Detective Tomas "TJ" Jaruszalski, played by Corey Stoll. Terrence Howard is also staying on as DA Jonah "Joe" Dekker.

"LOLA," which averaged 9 million viewers on Wednesday nights, was criticized by some fans for straying too far from the first three "L & O" series, resulting in creator Dick Wolf revamping the show to address the concerns. The last new episode aired in December.

"We are pleased to welcome Law & Order: Los Angeles back to NBC's regular lineup," said Bob Greenblatt, chairman of NBC entertainment. "Dick Wolf and his team have made some exciting creative changes and we can't wait to reintroduce the show to audiences."

According to The Futon Critic, the show will air through June 27. Upon its return it will jump ahead to the revamped version, before showing the unaired episodes featuring Ulrich, Boone and Hall in the summer.

"Law & Order: Los Angeles" returns to NBC on Monday, April 11 at 9/8c before moving to its regular time slot the following week at 10/9c. Current occupant "Harry's Law" ends its run on April 4.
