When Season 15 of “Law and Order: SVU” began, fans watched as Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) was being held captive by a serial rapist. No one was sure how things would play out in the end, but Benson managed to escape. The show has been on winter hiatus and will return the first week in January. According to a Dec. 26 report by E! Online, the episode will be another intense one. E! offers a sneak peek of the episode and a few details regarding Bill returning for trial.

Mariska Hargitay admitted that filming the rape and torture scenes was intense and gut-wrenching at times. There were so many things that had to happen for it to be successful, and it was. Now Billy is back and Detective Benson will have to face the fact that he may walk on the charges. Fans are wondering how this will affect Benson in the long-term, especially since the first incident affected her so profoundly.

Season 15 of “Law and Order: SVU” will resume again in January and run until the season finale in May. Fans have grown to love Detective Benson and this episode will shock them to their core again. “Law and Order: SVU” airs on the NBC network Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. CST.
