Summary: A celebrity chef shoots an unarmed teenager that she believes is the assailant in a string of rapes.
What started off as an easy case for SVU turns out to be anything but. The show turned out to be about a very sensitive involving race. On the surface, I thought the show was ripped from the Zimmerman case that recently occurred, but as the show progressed, I wonder if they mixed in the Paula Dean fiasco that happened.
It looks like Benson is still struggling with dealing with her assault. I like how it’s there, but it’s not over the top. When Criminal Intent was on, this show used to go over the top with stuff like this, but SVU has always been able to find that happy medium.
We got two guest stars this show with Sybil Shepherd and Jeffrey Tambor and both were great in their roles. Shepherd played the helpless victim amazing and it was her language and mannerisms reminded me of Paula Dean. Tambor was the defense lawyer and it was certainly different seeing him in a drama role. I have always been used to him in Arrested Development.
Here’s a recap of the show.
