Law Abiding Citizen
Directed by F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job), the film tells the story of Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler), an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Nick: Either fix the flawed justice system, or key players in the trial will die. Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations that can be neither predicted nor prevented. Only Nick can stop the killing and finds himself in a desperate race against time facing a deadly adversary who seems always to be one step ahead.

Law Abiding Citizen, distributed by Overture Films, has grossed over $100 million worldwide since it's release in the US in October 2009. It was the first film from Gerard Butler's production company Evil Twins in partnership with The Film Department.

This is one of Gerry's best movies yet!! He is awesome, as usual, but more so as the distraught husband and father that is forced to watch his family be abused and killed. He is so phenominal in this role, why it didn't garner an award is beyond my ability to understand. Once again Gerry Butler goes the full way to showing his ability to be an all around fantastic actor. He is still coming into his best yet, and he gets better and better as he plys his craft and hones his acting ability to it's finest performance yet to come. The man is incredibly awesome.
The part Gerry played in this movie was as Joany says is awesome. I wass totally sumapthetic to his grief and anguish at the horrible loss of his child and family. I cried for this man and when he took revenge I could understand completely his grevious mental agony. Gerry is always on top of the part and this time he took it to the top. Yeah this should have had an award the man's a genius and one of the best actors aroumd. Can't wait to see the modern version of Shakespeares Coriolanus which Gerry did on stage.Go for it Gerry.
