No, not the Laverne & Shirley from the mid 70's hit sitcom, but two cute kittens that need a loving home, preferably together.
Both sisters are being fostered by Dayna Roselli, Morning Co-Host of KXNT Newsradio in Las Vegas.
Dayna volunteered to foster Laverne & Shriley when she heard Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org) needed help with the overflow of kittens being dropped off. She's been training, feeding, playing with them, and though they are tugging at her heart, her busy lifestyle and travel keeps her away from home much of the time.
The Nevada SPCA is a non-profit, no kill animal sanctuary that treats each animal as a human, with a name, not a number. They promote humane education, makes referrals for low cost spay/neuter/vaccinations, and strive to find the perfect match for each animal. On any given day, the shelter is home to over 1000 rescued animals. Besides cats and dogs, they also take in rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, pigs, birds, turtles, fish and more. Right now, it's kitten season, and unfortunately, they keep coming in by the dozens. They hope to find homes for each and every one.
Laverne & Shirely were just two out of hundreds that are in need of a home. In one week, Dayna will drop the girls off for surgery, (spayed) then back to the shelter and put up for adoption.
I'll borrow the theme song for them from the show Laverne & Shirley, "Making Our Dreams Come True," in hope to make their dreams come true to find a loving home together.
