If you are a teacher near the top of payroll, close to retirement, and outspoken or oppositional there is a good chance that LAUSD teacher jails await you. The plan is to find something to charge you with, put you into the jail and not tell the charge for months, so that you get so disillusioned and bored and then quit. LAUSD does not have to pay you retirement benefits.
Increase tests scores or perish. Keep the test scores growing year after year despite the class composition of needy children or face the ire of the parents, the principals, and the district.
Having teachers’ test scores published is the ultimate shame.
Increasing class sizes, no time for anything other than the Core, no money for supplies, raises or assistants or traveling specialists to help certain students.
Teachers are never consulted. Decisions on everything are made by the no school knowledge downtown administrators and board members and are strongly influenced by the politicians and billionaire deformers as well and the book and text publishers.
As veteran teachers get discouraged, disgusted, and retire prematurely, they are replaced by inexperienced teachers at the bottom of the payroll, which of course helps the district budget.
Teachers are stuck between lousy textbooks and worthless tests costing millions each year.
Raise your test scores and next year they want more. Like working in a factory where you must make more each time or else.
Students and teachers are human beings. But, does LAUSDeasy treat them like they are?
