Laurita has $340,000 in debt owed to the state of New Jersey. On March 2, TMZ reported that Jacqueline Laurita had a lien placed on her and she will have to pay up or she could start losing assets. Laurita is just the latest "Housewife" to have financial issues sneak up on her.
"The docs don't specify which year(s) Jacqueline allegedly racked up the debt, but if she doesn't pay up soon, they could go after her assets," TMZ reports. It is unknown how this happened, but it could be a case of failing to claim money or failing to report income to the IRS.
Laurita's $340,000 debt might be able to be paid back in installments or perhaps she may be able to lessen the load -- she will probably work with a lawyer and an accountant to get everything figured out. Chances are, nothing bad will happen to Jacqueline. The Laurita's will take care of it. Jacqueline's husband, Chris, is a very smart business man and he will support his wife as they figure out what to do next.
Naturally owing this much money can really burden a person -- many would have to file bankruptcy or sell their belongings to get the debt paid. The Laurita's probably won't have to do anything drastic to come up with the money.
Are you surprised Laurita has $340,000 debt owed to the state?
