Laurel High School set to hit stage in the musical Willy Wonka

The Laurel High School Performing Arts Department will present the musical monster-hit of stage and screen Willy Wonka on February 7th at 10:30am, and February 8th and 9th at 7:00pm in the high school’s auditorium! This is Laurel High School’s stage adaptation of the magical and mysterious story about an eccentric candy maker and the five children who win the opportunity to tour his factory. The show includes wonderful music and songs, and great messages for both youngsters and the young-at-heart. The show has music by Bricusse and Newley, and is based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl. It is being presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Additionally, Laurel High School has joined with three neighboring restaurants to present a “Dinner and a Show” partnership on the weekend of the Willy Wonka production. Each restaurant will provide customers who present their Willy Wonka tickets with a special deal. Don Pablo’s will provide Willy Wonka patrons with a 15% discount on the entire meal (excluding alcoholic beverages). Silver Diner will provide all customers who present a ticket with a 10% discount on the entire meal. TGIFriday’s will honor Willy Wonka tickets with a free dessert with each patron’s meal.
