Laura Wiley to launch a new year of Cadillac Hotel jazz concerts

The Concerts at the Cadillac series of monthly free jazz performances starts off the new year this Friday. The featured artist will be Laura Wiley, a vocalist who also performs on flute. She will be accompanied only by guitarist Bernie Bagshaw. The result promises to be an intimate account of selections from the Great American Songbook, tunes from the seventies, and original compositions.

Wiley and Bagshaw will perform in the lobby of the Cadillac Hotel (380 Eddy Street at the corner of Leavenworth Street) this coming Friday, January 11, at 12:30 p.m. The concert will last about one hour, followed by the usual raffle of ten CDs. With the partial support of the North of Market/Tenderloin Community Benefit District, this concert is offered free of charge by the hotel as a gift to the people of the Tenderloin. The Cadillac calls itself “The House of Welcome Since 1907;” and all are definitely welcome to this free jazz opportunity.
