Launch scheduled Thursday afternoon at Cape Canaveral for NROL-67 mission

A United Launch Alliance Atlas rocket will launch another mission into orbit from the Space Coast early Thursday afternoon. The payload for the National Reconnaissance Office is set to launch at 1:45 p.m. April 10 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The mission is named NROL-67 and is being launched “…in support of national defense”, according to the United Launch Alliance.

The United Launch Alliance says the Atlas V 541 rocket also launched the Mars Science Laboratory for NASA in November, 2011. Thursday’s launch will be the 81st launch for the United Launch Alliance since the company began in December, 2006.
