This small town by the Colorado River, Laughlin, NV, is filling up. All day long motorcycles have been rolling in, some under their own power and others on trailers or in truck beds. A steady stream of bikes loaded with gear heads south into the casino area while others, now unencumbered, head north to cross the river into Arizona and Bullhead City.
It's looking like a good year. Regulars say there were more bikes here already yesterday than usual. The heart of the rally is Thursday through Saturday so the rest is just cream for the businesses. Hotel rates that were $30 last night are $160 tonight.
Vendors that weren't ready to open yesterday are open in force today. When the Wild Turkey Saloon was finally ready they announced over the loudspeaker that everyone should come in for one free drink, free boot shining, and free chair massages. That will get a party started in a hurry.
Cars and motorcycles are still about equal in numbers on the main street but the bikes are gaining. Still, one regular groused that there are too many cars, that too many people are hauling their bikes in rather than riding them.
Tomorrow things will really start to cook.

I noticed some of my favorites like Küryakyn and J&P Cycles were set up. I could spend hours in Vendor Alley alone. Add in the bikes to drool over and who could ask for more!
Although I would pass on the 'fuzzy helmets.'
Fantastic! Thanks
Another great rally!
