Laughlin is rumbling today! (Photo: Ken Bingenheimer)
It's looking like a motorcycle rally around here! Bike parking lots that were a quarter full yesterday are overflowing today. The Laughlin River Run for 2010 is on!
This is not a rally like the Sturgis event. Sturgis is a tiny town that all but shuts down for the rest of the year, and when the rally hits there are thousands of bikes and very few cars. Laughlin and Bullhead City across the river are actual towns with people doing all the things people do everywhere. So even though Laughlin's main street is crowded with bikes, there are still a lot of cars.
Of course the roar is constant. This town is shakin', and I mean that literally. Yesterday's rain and chill are gone and the sun has brought out more skin. That's not always a good thing.
Although Laughlin is in Nevada, across the river it's Arizona, and the difference is the helmet law. Nevada has one, and Arizona does not. Plus, there is a lot of good riding on the Arizona side. That means the one bridge at the north end of town does a lot of business. Crossing to Arizona is no problem but with two left turns to negotiate to get back into Nevada, sitting through several cycles of the traffic light is the norm. The word is that tomorrow it will be an easy half hour to cover that quarter-mile distance.
Of course there's a lot to photograph and the following slideshow presents another batch of 20 shots. If a picture is worth 1,000 words that makes it 20,000 words worth of images. Enjoy.

I know you're having a great time. We're on our way out to biker drags out at Yellow Belly - Sun is shining and it's beautiful. We're all gonna have a great time today.
Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures tomorrow.
Neat slideshow.
There is a customizer near where I live that does the trike conversions with the outrigger wheels - or as I call them, training wheels.
Great photos Ken! Thanks.
That is a bad ass picture with that flashy orange and green bike.
