Lauded debut Temple of Air launches tonight

I'd be remiss in not mentioning that friend and former thesis advisor, Patty McNair is celebrating the much-anticipated launch of her debut collection of stories, Temple of Air, tonight at 7:30 at Women and Children First Bookstore(5233 N. Clark St). The collection is getting all sorts of strong reviews and press, including the feature in the Books section of this week's Time Out Chicago, where editor Jonathan Messinger writes, "...what makes The Temple of Air such an immersive read is the depth McNair brings to a variety of characters, whether they be cynical teenagers or Bible-thumping adults. It feels personal but not particular."

Looking forward to reading it and congrats to Patty, whose generosity and thoughtfulness is unmatched in this line of work.

She'll also be reading at The Chicago Way on Sunday, September 11 at 7pm at the Hidden Shamrock.

If you can't make the readings peppered throughout the midwest this fall, you can get a copy at Elephant Rock Books.
