Latisse vs. LiLash: Two eyelash growth products put to the test

You've seen the Brooke Shields commercial wherein she promotes a new prescroption product, Latisse, which promises to produce thicker, fuller, and darker eyelashes in just a couple of months' time.  But before the prescription-only product launched, there was LiLash, an over-the-counter product that promised to do the same thing.

Let's take a look at the pros and cons of each of the eyelash growth products.

LiLash Purified Eyelash Stimulator

Not that long ago, I wrote a review of LiLash based on the experience of one of clients.  Seeing the results firsthand told me that the product worked, without a doubt.

  • LiLash is $139.97 per tube, with each tube providing approximately five months worth of product.
  • LiLash is applied in the same manner as a liquid eyeliner.  It is clear, drying in about two to three minutes.
  • Contains natural extracts to help condition the eyelashes and prevent them from becoming dry or brittle during treatment.
  • Some see results with LiLash as early as 3 weeks, while others see results in 8 weeks.
  • Once ideal results are achieved, it requires maintenance use of 2-3 times per week to maintain results.  If use is discontinued, eyelashes will revert back to their original condition.
  • While formulated for the eyelashes, many women have reported success in using LiLash on the eyebrows, as well.
  • LiLash is backed by a 90-day, money-back guarantee.
  • Does not require a prescription or the additional expense of a visit to a doctor.

Latisse Prescription Eyelash Growth Product

  • Requires a visit to your doctor to obtain a prescription.  Most insurance companies do not cover visits related to cosmetic procedures or products.  Most insurance companies also do not cover prescriptions for cosmetic purposes, either, so the cost of the product will be out-of-pocket.
  • Costs between $125-165 per tube depending on where you live.  Each tube lasts only two months.
  • Results are seen in about 8 weeks with full results after 12-16 weeks of use.  If use of Latisse is discontinued, eyelashes will revert back to their original condition.
  • Does not have any conditioning ingredients added to keep eyelashes from feeling brittle or hard.

Overall, the two products are remarkably similar.  The application is the same, the results are the same, but the costs are relatively similar.  However, most people do not realize that it is unlikely that their health insurance will cover Latisse, and in some cases, the costs of the office visit associated with Latisse.

Additionally, the supply of Latisse lasts just two months at the price point, while LiLash typically lasts about five months.

Where can I see before and after results of LiLash???!!

  • Linda 2 years ago

I started using LiLash in 2/09, and got good results. Am very happy as I have used false eyelashes since I was in my 20's (40 years!) I am thrilled at the results. It just takes a bit of care to avoid getting in your eye, and I love that I can use eye makeup a few minutes after application. Absolutely love it, and just ordered for the second time.

it seems though that the only one with blind clinical trials behind it is latisse. there is no evidence that lilash actually grows your lashes thicker and longer. i've seen it for decade in my glaucoma patients, their eyelashes are all enourmous, this is way before me or anyone else even thought of using it for a cosmetic use.

I have seen a product similar to this at a plastic surgery office. I was thinking you would probably have to use the product forever or revert to your old skimpy lashes again. It would be worth it is there are no side effects to the product!

Belive me, it works! Li Lash does work. I had next to NO lashes and the falsies I wore made what little ones I had just disappear. I was desparate and got some Li Lash and I saw little sprouts within a few days of use and I am 5 weeks into using in on both my brows and lashes and I am getting really great results. I need hardly any makeup for my brows now. In a few more weeks I am sure my brows with be completely filled in and my lashes are getting longer by the day! It works!

Isn't anyone else concerned that a possible side effect is BLINDNESS? As the sister of someone who went partially (read:legally) blind due to a prescription product (prescribed for an actual, medical condition) the "oh, it won't happen to me" mentality regarding this possible side effect really makes me wonder about the price people are willing to pay for beauty. Get real, folks. It's not worth the risk.

LiLash grows longer, fuller eyelashes in just 4 to 6 weeks. LiLash is physician formulated and tested. and it's the purest nonirritating product on the market. To order this amazing product and achieve the longer, fuller eyelashes you desire, Go to this site fullereyelashes.blogspot.com/

I was at my doctors office and the asst. had these long lashes. I commented on them and she said she used the Latisse lash product. Of course they also were selling it so I was iffy on weather she was being honest.
Anyway I came home and went online to research products and reviews. I decided to try a lesser product (LiLash) to see if I saw anything.

Lo and behold, it started to work, I saw after a month it was working. I now have used it for 8 weeks and boy it really does work. So for the price being 1/5th of Latisse and also a prescription , etc., I really recommend using LiLash and feel I won't need to go the extra expense and hassle of using Latisse.

go for it, it does work

What I meant to say was that I haven't tried either of these products....

  • Debbie 2 years ago

Has anyone tried both Latisse and Lilash - as a way to compare?

  • 2 year user 2 years ago

I have used Lilash for over 2 years. I tried lash extensions that ruined what lashes I had. I researched Lilash product for over 6 months and decided to use it, with apprehension after the lash extensions were off and left w/o many lashes. After using Lilash for 6 weeks I started to see real results. I applied at night and found my eyes were irritated and red in the morning. Now I apply only in the a.m. and have really great lashes. I haven't had irritation/problems since. Although I have not tried Latisse, I like the ease of using Lilash w/o dr. appt & prescription. Try it, it works and if you apply it carefully like anything else you apply to your eyes, you will be fine.

  • jenna 2 years ago

lilash is the worst it's just as bad for your eyes as latisse.
Lilash has paraben and it's just a mousturizer, I didnt get any growth at all.
Envyderm and jan marini are the best to see significant growth and they are all natural formula.

  • Angela 2 years ago

Thanks for the information by the way. I have a cousin who works for revitalash and she asked me to give it a try. So I asked one from her and tried it. I've been applying a small amount each day, been using it until now. I love how it turned my lashes naturally fuller and darker. Haven't tried a different brand though, however I'm sticking with Revitalash. It's been a year now and I'm a satisfied user.

  • Jean 2 years ago

I used Lilash for 10 weeks following the directions exactly. My results were disappointing. I saw little to no improvement in length or thickness in my lashes. I waited a month and tried Latisse. In 3 weeks I have seen a real difference..longer, thicker lashes.
Not sure why Lilash didn't work for me. I had read so many positive reviews it. It did not do the job for me.

  • karyle 1 year ago

My bestfriend told me to use revitalash. After a month I switched to Revitalash, used their eyelash conditioner. After 6-7 weeks of use, I can see my eyelashes enhancing naturally. They are now looking darker and fuller. It's an amazing product aside form the reasonable price. I'm loving it to the max.

  • shannen 1 year ago

yeah exactly! Revitalash is amazing. I am using it as well for about 8 months now. The price fits my budget and it really enhanced my lashes naturally.

  • carmea 1 year ago

Well, Revitalash has been working wonders for me also. I just can't explain how amazing the product is. I really noticed my short and dull lashes changing and ehancing naturally, looking fuller, stronger and darker after 7-8 weeks of using it. And also the main reason why i'm sticking with revitalash is the reasonable price. Not that expensive compared to lattise.

  • tiffany 1 year ago

I’m surprise how Revitalash had done for my lashes I never expected how it naturally enhanced my lashes. Looking fuller thick and long is amazing. Now im confident and proud of it.

  • Michelle 1 year ago

I don't know about other brands yet and their price is way beyond my price range as well. For now I am using revitalash eyelash conditioner as what was advised by a friend and guess what??! I was like amazed with how my lashes enhanced naturally. Looking fuller and darker which made a big difference to my face. I'm loving revitalash and can't wait to get for another tube. Well latisse is too expensive for me, way beyond my price range. I've been using revitalash eyelash conditioner and had an amazing experience with the results. I've been using it for a year now and it's where i found satisfaction with how my lasher are right now. I can't wait to get another one.

  • Jean 1 year ago

I've heard products like Latisse,Lilash, Revitalash...
I really wanted to have full and long lashes. I'm wearing lash extenders which is very annoying and I wanna get rid of
this. Can anyone give any advice? I

  • jacky 1 year ago

Well for me, I haven’t tired Latisse or Lilash ot other brands. The first brand I used was Revitalash and I’m still using it now. To my surprise my dull and thin lashes became luxurious with 8-weeks. It took sometime but I’m very happy with the results.

  • hasmin 1 year ago

Hi I'm new here and I just want to say I got Revitalash as a gift I saw significant growth on my lashes in using Revitalash it’s healthier, longer, and thicker, its one of the few products that are safe to use and affordable.

  • AnnaLove 1 year ago

I’ve been using Revitalash for the past 4 weeks and I have noticed a difference in my lashes have grown a bit longer but what is more noticeable is they have gotten thicker and feel less brittle. Overall, I would recommend it and for the price point, I think it’s worth the investment

  • Heather 1 year ago

Hi. I haven't used any products as well on my lashes. I only used Maximumlash which is a hig-performance lash conditioner. With Maximumlash I got longer, thicker and stunning lashes!!!

  • Rose 1 year ago

I understand that it is a possible side effect. That is why I chose a non-prescription product called MaximumLash. It really makes your lashes fuller and longer. In the span of 3 months that I have been using the product, I never had any irritations or signs of side effects.

  • Martha 1 year ago

I agree with Heather. With Maximumlash, I got luscious lashes that I ever wanted. Its very convenient since one application a day is sufficient. It really works for me.

  • Fanny 1 year ago

Yeah I heard about maximumlash from a friend and said that she's comfortable using it however I am using revitalash eyelash conditioner for almost a year now. It really amazed me by the time I noticed the natural enhancement of my lashes, it was for about 6-7 weeks after I observed the effect. To assure you my lashes are now looking darker and fuller and really made a big difference to my face particularly when I curl them up. I am satisfied consumer here, extremely recommend this to girls as it remedied the problems I had for my lashes.

One Brush stroke is sufficient with Maximumlash to have luscious lashes. Isn't that a surprise.

  • Jamie 1 year ago

Really?!! How much is the market price of maximum lash? Hope it's offered in the market with a reasonable price just like what I am using for a year now, Revitalash eyelash conditioner, affordable and is worth the price for it's effectiveness. Really made a big difference to my lushes.. Haven't seen Maximulash as well, I'll try to search it in the net.

  • Beverly 1 year ago

I've used lilash before and it was fine however when I found out that revitalash is cheaper, from there I swithced to revitalash eyelash conditioner and never felt uneasy using it. Another great product as well.

  • Nikka 1 year ago

Latisse is too pricey as well. They are both great products based on my experience. I prefer revitalash because it's cheaper

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

I’m also a loyal user of revitalash. This is the only product that made me happy with the results on my lash that is healthier thicker and fuller.
