The Latinas Think Big conference 2013 by the Ella Institute was held last week in the Los Angeles area at the Google headquarters in Venice Beach, CA.
This year, Latinas are on a mission. Lead by the Founder and CEO of the ELLA Leadership Institute Dr. Angelica Perez Litwin, over 150 influential Latinas gathered for building and raising awareness. All under one roof.
These powerful women as well as others that joined the conference virtually from all over the world, created magic that evening in an event full of non-stop inspiration.
Dr. Angelica Perez- Litwin, made this event one of the most popular events of the year by attracting hundreds of influential women from all across the map including high-profile female executives from various sectors such as corporate, government, education and the news/entertainment industry.
The women communicated with each other about issues, needs and real stories for Latinas by Latinas which included topics such as : creating consulting and mentoring programs, personal hardships, tailored training and the importance of leadership initiatives for women especially for Latinas.
One of the most memorable parts of the evening was the sit down interview with Monica Gil, Senior VP of Public Affairs at Nielsen who said “The modern Latina is ambicultural". She created the Latina Powershift Report which was very insightful the last hour of the event.
Gil also explained that Latinas trust each other and seek information from other Latinas. Latinas are more than ever increasingly influencing everything from the buying power in the US, to the work force, education and beyond. Latinas are making decisions that are affecting the masses.
