Bethesda Softworks released a new trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order on Tuesday that revealed some of the unique gameplay elements that will be available in the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC shooter.
The 'Nowhere to Run' trailer continues the theme of an alternate past where the Nazis won World War II and have now dominated the world. This time it opens with the 1950 World Cup in Brazil where, incidentally enough, Germany was banned from competing in our reality. In Wolfenstein's reality though, Germany is not only competing but also has its referees deciding matches with on-field executions for red cards.
The rest is the now familiar rise of the Resistance and B.J. Blazkowicz against the Nazi forces but there are some new gameplay elements showcased in the trailer. This includes some up-close melee and stealth takedowns, a car escape and some of the new weapons that can be played with.
There's one gun that can lock onto multiple targets before shooting some sort of explosive and another gun that acts like an arc welder to cut through obstacles and then shoot at enemies. The trailer also reveals that players will be able lean from out behind cover to shoot as well.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is currently set for a May 20 release on all platforms and comes with a beta invite for Doom 4 for those that pre-order.
