Latest update on WWE Network

On Thursday February 28th, the WWE released their 4th quarters financial report, which was filled with the usual numbers madness. However, one piece of information that caught my eye, and many within the WWE Universe, was the comments that CEO Vince McMahon made about the WWE Network. According to WWE.com, McMahon made the following comments:

"In the fourth quarter, we continued to make important progress on our key strategic initiatives, expanding the production and licensing of new programs and enhancing our brands. Although we did not announce the launch of a domestic television network during the year, we believe, now more than ever, that we can realize the full value of our intellectual property using a variety of approaches in our global markets. Our confidence is based on the rising value of content and the tremendous global appeal of our brands."

Basically, if my translation is correct, the WWE is not any closer to launching their WWE Network that has been talked about for the last few years. Despite owning just about every credible wrestling library in the country, they still face issues with trying to launch the network.

Well, at least they have YouTube. That's about as positive as I can be with this news. However, if Bruno can be inducted into this year's HOF then I'm sure the WWE will launch their own network while Vince is still around.
