Latest studies show Americans don't have a great understanding of the 'Cloud'

information technology, have talked a lot about something called the 'Cloud'.

The general public, doesn't seem to possess that much information about it,

even though businesses in the United States are using it in growing numbers.

The 'Cloud' refers to away of storing data or information in a more centralized

location as opposed to, for instance a PC, or individual computer.

In an article called, U.S. UK, show cloud adoption devide,

written February 6, 2013, for the online health industy publication,

Fierce Finance IT, by Phil Albinus, says that in general, citizens of the

United Kingdom know more about cloud computing than Americans.

However the far greater cloud IT projects are taking place in the United

States.

A recent survey of 1,000 Americans, found 31.8% of them said they

had no understnding of the term the "cloud" at all. Only twenty-five

percent of Americans stated they had a firm grasp of the topic.

The poll was created by a European group called Webfusion.

Today fifty-eight percent of private companies in the United States

are using the cloud, compared to forty-one percent in United Kingdom.
