Latest storm eases but Denver’s Friday and weekend looks to remain quite cold

Yesterday’s snowstorm was underwhelming for some locations serving up just enough snow to make a mess. While it has stopped falling for now, snow is expected to return Friday afternoon and temperatures through the extended period will remain below normal.

For today the snow has stopped in the Denver metro area. Some light flurries will be possible this morning before snow becomes more likely this afternoon into tonight. An additional inch or two is not out of the question. Temperatures today will be quite chilly with highs topping out in the mid to upper 20s.

Saturday will see improvement on the snow front but not with temperatures. There is a slight chance for flurries through the day and high temperatures are only expected to be in the upper 20s.

For Super Bowl Sunday the sun stages are return and that should help to melt some of the snow. However, it is going to remain far cooler than normal as temperatures will only reach near the freezing mark.

Looking ahead into the next workweek, it will continue to be unseasonably cool. In fact, many days will fail to reach above the freezing mark with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday seeing high temperatures only in the low to mid-20s. We see another chance for snow Monday night into Tuesday.
