Fans of romance novels can choose from a variety of titles this summer.
"Kiss of Wrath" (Avon, $7.99) by Sandra Hill is the latest in her Deadly Angels series. Vaangels are Vikings who have become vampire-angels as punishment for their rampages in Norway. Mordr, also known as "Beserker" turns up in Las Vegas. There he has to fight off Lucipires vampires and the advances of Miranda Hart.
"Vixen in Velvet" (Avon, $6.99) by Loretta Chase is the final part of the Noirot trilogy. Leonie Noirot manages Maison Noirot, an infamous London dressmaker. The Marquess of Lisburne, Simon Blair, comes to London to be chaperone for his young cousin, but his mind is more on wooing Noirot.
"The Masterful Mr. Montague" (Avon) by Stephanie Laurens is a historical mystery set in the Victorian Era. Barnaby Adair and his wife Penelope and Inspector Stokes and his wife Griselda pursue life as gentry. Heathcote Montague manages the finances of the Cynster and Bastion Club. Violet Matcham, companion to Lady Halstead, seeks his financial advice. Lady Halstead is murdered and all become involved in this mystery.
"To Marry a Scottish Laird" (Avon) by Lynsay Sands is the second in the Scottish Highlands series. Campbell Sinclair becomes a hired soldier to get away from his mother's matchmaking efforts. He sees a boy in trouble and is wounded trying to save him. The boy turns out to be a beautiful woman trying to deliver a scroll to McKay house in Scotland. Sinclair joins her on her quest.
"I Adored A Lord" (Avon, $5.99), by Katharine Ashe is the second of the Prince Catchers novels. The eligible women of England gather in a castle to vie for the hand of a wealthy prince. Ravenna Caulfield is dragged along but prefers to be with the animals in the stable. The prince finds her there and the attraction is mutual.
"The Secrets of A Scoundrel" (Avon, $7.99) by Gaelen Foley is the final book in the Inferno Club spy series. Lord Forrester ends up in a Scottish dungeon. A beautiful woman, Lady Burke, rescues him on condition he obey her every order.
