A new tour date for former Beatle Ringo Starr was just listed by concert industry service Pollstar. It's Sunday June 26 in Paris at the Palais des Sports. The date isn't listed yet on Ringo's site.
The Beatles played two shows at the Palais des Sports on June 20, 1965, 46 years earlier almost to the day. The shows, at 3 and 9 p.m., had 6,000 people at each show. The second show was broadcast live on radio by Europe 1 and filmed by French television, according to Mark Lewisohn's book "The Beatles Live." Their set at both shows was the same: "Twist and Shout," "She's a Woman," "I'm a Loser," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Baby's In Black," "I Wanna Be Your Man," "A Hard Day's Night," "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby," "Rock and Roll Music," "I Feel Fine," "Ticket to Ride" and "Long Tall Sally." Both shows have been bootlegged.
